Paolo Tomellieri


His family was so much passionate about classical music that  he began as a young man to play the clarinet.
After graduating from the Conservatory in Milan in 1957 he came to meet  Bruno De Filippi and Windy City Stompers.
In 1959 he joined the "Cavalieri" along with Enzo Jannacci, Luigi Tenco, Gianfranco Reverberi and Nando De Luca. In 1971 he was at Celentano's side on the stage of the Sanremo Festival with the song "Sotto le lenzuola" playing the guitar and directing the orchestra. He played with Tony Scott, Joe Venuti, Jimmy McPartland, Dick Cary, Ralph Sutton, Bill Coleman, Will Bill Davison, Clark Terry, Red Mitchell, Jimmy Woode , Phil Woods, Billy Butterfield, Bud Freeman. He also performs very often in Germany, France and Switzerland and he isa  Professor of Clarinet / Saxophone and music theory at the AFAM . Author of the legendary Tomnibook.
